What browser storage does
Cookies and similar storage let a site remember a session or preference. Some are necessary to provide a requested service; optional analytics storage helps measure how published writing is read.
Storage used by Tidelob
| Name/category | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase authentication cookies · Necessary | Maintain and refresh a signed-in session securely. | Supabase / Tidelob | Session-dependent; refreshed according to authentication settings. |
tidelob_consent_v1 · Necessary | Remember whether optional analytics was accepted or rejected. | Tidelob | 6 months |
tidelob_reader_id_v1 · Analytics local storage | Estimate unique and returning readers using a random first-party ID. | Tidelob | Until consent is withdrawn or browser storage is cleared. |
tidelob_analytics_session_v1 · Analytics session storage | Group page and reading events into an anonymous visit. | Tidelob | Current browser tab; rotates after 30 minutes of inactivity. |
Your choice
Analytics is off by default. Accepting creates random first-party reader/session identifiers; rejecting does not affect public content or core product access. Withdrawing stops future analytics and removes optional Tidelob analytics storage where possible. A browser Global Privacy Control signal is treated as rejection.
What we do not use
Tidelob does not use reader fingerprinting, advertising pixels, cross-site analytics identifiers, or Google Analytics for v1.
